How to Swap on Osmosis

Osmosis is a leading decentralized exchange (DEX) on the Cosmos network, allowing users to seamlessly swap assets. In this guide, we’ll walk you through swapping tokens on Osmosis.

Depositing Tokens to Osmosis

The first step in swapping tokens on Osmosis is transferring your tokens through Osmosis. You can do this by visiting the Portfolio page and clicking deposit next to the token you’re depositing.

1. Visit: https://app.osmosis.zone

2. Click ‘Connect wallet’ button on the top right hand corner

3. Select the wallet that you will be using to make the deposit, swap, and withdraw and approve the connection

4. Click the ‘Portfolio’ button on the left-hand side of the page

5. Search for the token you want to deposit. In this example, we will search for stATOM

6. Click ‘Deposit’ next to the token you want to deposit

7. Enter the amount of tokens that you want to deposit in the ‘Select Amount’ box

8. Click the ‘Deposit’ button and approve the transaction

Swapping Tokens on Osmosis

Now that we’ve deposited our tokens, we can swap them for another token through the DEX. We’ll need to visit the swap page, select the tokens we’re swapping, and then submit the transaction.

9. Click the ‘Swap’ button on the left-hand side of the page

10. Change the first token to the token you’re going to swap

11. Change the second token to the token you want to swap for. In this case, we will be swapping for ATOM

12. Enter the amount of tokens you want to swap. You can manually enter them, or hit the ‘Half’ or ‘Max’ buttons to automatically add half of your tokens or all of your tokens that are in your Osmosis wallet

13. Click the ‘Swap’ button and approve the transaction

Withdrawing Tokens from Osmosis

Now that we’ve swapped our tokens, we can withdraw those tokens from Osmosis. The process is identical to depositing, except we’ll choose the option to withdraw instead of deposit.

14. Click the ‘Portfolio’ button on the left-hand side of the page

15. Search for the token you want to deposit. In this example, we will search for ATOM

16. Click ‘Withdraw’ next to the token you want to deposit

17. Enter the amount of tokens that you want to withdraw in the ‘Select Amount’ box.

18. Click the ‘Withdraw’ button and approve the transaction

If you’ve followed these instructions, you should have completed the process of swapping tokens using Osmosis.
