Preliminary requirement:
- You must have adequate funds available on the Osmosis appchain in order to do this.
- Go the https://marsprotocol.io/ website and select “Launch App” in the top right corner. You will see this screen. Select “Connect Wallet”.
- Once your wallet is connected, go to the “Red Bank” tab where you can view all of the asset markets available on Mars. The deposits section represents the supply - you can see a positive balance of stATOM available already. To supply stATOM, simply select the asset from the “Deposits” list.
- From your available balance, select the amount of stATOM you wish to add. Ensure your new deposit balance reflects the desired amount. Select “Deposit” and complete the transaction in your wallet. You should see a positive stATOM balance on the Mars market.
- Now that you have supplied your stAssets as collateral, you can select an asset that you wish to borrow against your collateral. In this tutorial we are borrowing OSMO. Select “OSMO” from the Borrowing section on the homepage. Complete the transaction in your wallet.
- Your portfolio will now show the composition of your supplied and borrowed assets.
NOTE: Be aware of your borrowing capacity. Your borrowing capacity is directly related to how much collateral (deposits) you have supplied. In this case, since the borrow limit is almost reached, because the borrowed amount is approaching the amount of collateral supplied.
